Inserted image removes background

I have inserted a background image for my background.   When I insert an image on top of my background - there is a gray area all around my image. I only want the image to be present - not this gray area that extends past my image covers up my background..   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    We need more information.   Can you post a URL to the online page so we can see the problem?  

    By any chance are you inserting the foreground image into a Bootstrap Jumbotron or Carousel slider?  That might be where the gray background is coming from.
