When I click within a tag, the text up to the closing tag becomes highlighted:

I do not find this helpful at all, it's very distracting and I loose all of my code highlighting, is there anyway to disable the feature?

Use the Token Inspector and change the value in the Less file as per Learn how you can customize the colors of your code elements in Dreamweaver.

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

Meanwhile in other paid-for vendor applications you just go into a user interface, select the coding, change the color to suit and you're done. Pretty poorly thought through.
