Dynamic datalist using java no longer available in DWCC19:

Is there a simple way to link an xml dataset to a sortable datalist in the new version Dreamweaver?

For years I have used this simple method to publish our products in our monthly newsletter (www.malescowinebroker.com/Register.html)

The server bindings extension is not valid for DW2019, so I cannot even use this.

My website may be old but I do not want to rebuild it just yet. The dataset is so simple, and I do not require the interactivity of a full database. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

This extension says it support MySQLi:

Never used it so can't rubber stamp it but it looks like it might be of use.

I see that you have used the Spry XML Data source for this in the past. That was a very handy widget, one that is still in use on some of my older websites.

The modern way of achieving the same is through a JSON Data source. The extension that I use is https://www.dmxzone.com/go/33046/app-connect-json-data-source/

There are ways to convert the XML file to JSON, one Google search gave me https://codebeautify.org/xmltojson

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!
