Keeping Track Of Client's Info

What software do you use to keep track of all of your clients' website information?  I currently use Outlook 2010 and plug most of my client's info into the Outlook Contacts.  Currently using PC, Windows 10, CS6 Master Collection.

Outlook isn't suitable for the amount of client info I need to maintain. Also, if your websites are tied to a database, then the specifics of the website and client can be combined in one place.

I created my own web-based client invoice management system that emails detailed invoices to clients each month. It allows clients to click a button in the email to pay online. Previously I used Quickbooks to manage invoices, but it was lacking. There are off-the-shelf time tracking solutions that are probably similar to what I created.

The database table that stores client info keeps track of a lot of things about the client: their timezone, the currency their bank account is based on, the account details for their payment system of choice.

Marking my response as "correct" quickly could deter others from chiming in with their own interesting solutions. I appreciate having my response marked correct, but my solution is closely tied to the kind of websites I build, the services I provide, and my ability to create an invoicing system.

Hopefully others will still add to this thread.

I did not reply as your answer was marked correct Rob.

I use my team server to maintain information between myself and my company. I also import the information into the required program, (MS Project, Word, etc.) but knowing that the original is in my private folder on the server also gives me a back-up that I can refer to any time I require.

I suppose the equivalent would be to set-up a private account on github. Then import this into whatever program one requires, which could be as simple as an Excel spreadsheet for each client.

I would only use Outlook for the communication of confidential information or discussions between myself and others.
