Lag after clicking on another program and coming back to DW

I just started having an issue with Dreamweaver lagging for a couple of seconds after I return from another application.

 

Example: I copy some text from an email and then go to past it into the code view. (I'm in developer mode)

 

This obviously slows down work quite a bit. 

 

Has anyone experienced this and do you have a solution?

    Thank you, Nancy.  It appears to have fixed itself.  I have 16 gb ram, so I should have plenty. It was after I did a large transfer of files and it only affected DW... no other programs had the lag issue.

     

    Anyway... it's working for now!

    Hi @Heath5FF3,

    • You might be low on available RAM.  Shut everything down and restart your computer. 
    • Turn off all non-essential background processes. 
    • In DW, switch the Document Toolbar from Live to Design view -- shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + F11.

      Glad to hear it.  16GB may seem like a lot but your OS uses a good chunk of that just to boot up.
