webassist extensions that require binding selection or database selection will no longer works after recent upgrade. Had to roll back dreamweaverCC to an older version and re-install ALL extensions to get them to work again. Webassist site has posted warnings NOT to upgrade dreamweaverCC and I have been waiting for weeks to get an answer from support after I made them aware of the problem!!

The latest Dremweaver update breaks Bindings and Database Connectivity

I've just installed the latest Dreamweaver version and I see that the Bindings Panel no longer works, and Database Connections don't show in the Database Panel. I have also experienced crashes when I try to create a new connection from within the Recordset Command.

Hopefully Adobe will address these issues soon, otherwise we will have to go back to the drawing board and create our own versions of the Database and Bindings panel.

In the meantime I'd suggest avoiding the update.

Because most of WA's extensions rely on the deprecated SB, this makes their extensions useless in the latest version of DW.

They should have gone down the same track as DMXzone and created their own versions of the Bindings panel  As Nancy states, the MySQLi extension is an exception.

WebAssist is in trouble, something that I do not wish upon them.

Just to clarify after ALL extensions were removed from dreamweaverCC.

With just the server behaviors and database extension installed:
    1) If you add a recordset and click the define c onnection button DW crashes
    2) If you add a connection through the database panel then it works, but it doesn't ever show in the database panel (it will show in the recordset dialog and you will be able to create a recordset at this point)
    3) In the advanced recordset dialog the tree control that allows you to build your query doesn't work. Clicking the Add to query or Where buttons do nothing.
    4) If you try to add a binding to a form element it won't work. Add a form text field to the page. Go to the properties panel and click the lightning bolt. You won't be able to select anything from the bindings panel.

I don't know how this is answered?? DreamweaverCC 2017 worked just fine until the very last update. Says to me adobe messed up on the update? Guess I'll roll it back to CS6 and be done with it, I think this is a very non professional response to the issue.

    Which extensions are you using?

I'm using WebAssist's MySQLi extension without problems.

To make it work in CC 2017, I used DMX Zone's Extension Manager & the Deprecated Server Behaviors Extension from their web site.  I then activated Web Assist's extension with DMX Zone's EM.

    Deprecated Server-Behaviors.

I always keep an older version of DW along side the current one just in case.

WebAssist extensions work in 2014 and 2015.  You can get older versions from your CC Desktop app.

I issued a timely warning to Ray Borduin, he preferred to wait. This is now the result.

DMXzone have actively taken part in the development of the latest versions of Dreamweaver, and they have no problems.

As a result, I have uninstalled all of my WebAssist extensions.

Just a guess Ben, but I suspect the problem stems from tying their extensions to the old server behaviours.
