Links to Images and PDFs disappear

Strange – after having been perfect functioning links to Images and for PDFs some of them all of a sudden break up; and in a hap-hazard behavior. Some images next door on the page are still there while others simply disappear. This is in Chrome but the same phenomenon happens in Firefox.

I tried to simply change names and make new links, but it’s like those particular spots on the page were “infected”. Inside Dw Real-Time Preview everything looks fine though!

Can anyone explain this mystery?

    1. Run your code through the online validation services below and fix ALL reported errors.

    2. Save changes.

    3. Upload changed pages to server.

    4. Clear your browser's cached data.

    Hi all,

Believe me – I have done these validations and scrutinizing paths…no way.

However, when I shortened image file names and inserted again, they came up!

I will try the same procedure with the missing (404) PDFs.

Still, I think the Dw should not be a magic adventure like this, we want to know what is happening behind the screen…

Please, if you know of any deep-going literature covering troubleshooting of this issue I’d be happy to order it. Thanks, Ingemar

Wow! Can I have what you are having? Been wanting hap hazard behaviours and breakups all my life.

On a serious note: Under normal circumstances, this should not happen. This maybe points to a server breakdown or errors in the code. It would help us to see the code. This is best done by giving us a link to the site.
