Live Preview not working, connecting to test server?

I'm very new to Dreamweaver and trying to figure out what I messed up here. Randomly my live preview (for one one website) stopped working. It tries to connect to the test server, and whether or not the test server is available, the livepreview will not load. The test server is on the network, if it matters. Other websites (without test servers) use LivePreview just fine. Help? I'm using 2017.0.1.

My local testing server is on my primary hard drive. Any my local files are in the default web directory in my testing server.  See screenshot.

I use a Linux/Apache server so adjust your server model as required.

I must not be understanding something, thank you for the help. I am able to access by going to internaldomainnameheretest.com and it loads off the test server, so I'll just upload to the test server each time I need to see a change. Thanks for the help.

Well, if you have a remote testing server then you're not using a local one and therefore cannot preview locally.

Live Preview is "a nice idea that's just not quite there yet" in my opinion. I have similar issues where it just doesn't work correctly at seemingly random times. I've never been able to consistently reproduce the problems I see, so it's not something I've spent any time trying to work through. It seems a little better in 2017.1 than it was in 2017.0.1 but it still needs some work.

Personally, I just open my site on a test server through the browser or use the Open In Browser function Nancy points to. I'll make changes in DW and save, then refresh the browser.

Unfortunately, when I try this, it's still trying to connect to my test server, and eventually fails while opening the browser pointing to a 403 forbidden error (that looks like MS IIS). It is isolated to *one* website (the one with testing servers configured).

Is the testing server running?

If so, is the site definition configured to use the correct server folder under Site > Manage Sites > Servers?

Use right-click on an open document tab to access the old Preview in Browser -- without Real-Time Preview.  See screenshot.
