Live view not updating - Dw 21.1 Build 15413

Live view is not updating css styles. If I add html content that will add but the styles applied will not. Seems to have just appeared out of nowhere. If I close dreamweaver with new changes and reopen the styles apply after the relaunch of the program.

I've been on Dreamweaver 21.1 Build 15413 for a while now.

MacOS Big Sur 11.5.1

I have restarted my computer, reset prefrences for Dreamweaver, and a PRAM rest with no luck yet.

I wonder if DW is still having issues with CSS Variables.

I honestly haven't played with them much in the last two releases, but there were still major problems in the 2019 version.

It may be that turning those variables into plain CSS will make it snap in line for you. If it does, here's the bug report forum so the dev team can see they aren't quite done fixing the problems with CSS variables: https://dreamweaver.uservoice.com/forums/382851-adobe-dreamweaver-bugs

It is giving red error codes by the variables but it always seemed to update work in all the pages I've worked on for this site. I'll send a bug fix to uservoice.

First, did you define a site in DW before you started? DW can have issues displaying your work if there's no site definition: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/how-to/define-a-dreamweaver-site.html

Something else to look out for, that you didn't mention above, have you checked for errors in your code?

Validate your HTML here: https://validator.w3.org/nu/

Validate your CSS here: https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

Repair any issues that are listed in the validators and it may start working correctly.

Errors in your code can cause all kinds of issues in DW.

Running the validators did catch two mistakes that I had made but over all live view has been resistant to updating or picking when it wants to update.

I could change a margin value and it not update then swich to another program come back and all the sudden it has updated that value. I've also taken my code and ran it on Codepen and it displays how I want it to. Dreamweaver behaving the way it is, is slowing down the whole process.

Here is the Dreamweaver part thats not updating at the moment. The space between "times are approximate" and the beginning of the timeline.

And here is the same thing in CodePen.

Save all documents.

Switch to the HTML Source Code Tab.

Refresh the screeen (F5).

Assuming there are no critical errors in HTML or CSS code, it should render.  However DW is NOT a browser.  For best results, always preview your work in real browsers and mobile devices.
