MAMP and Dreamweaver

The entire Wordpress FTP files were downloaded from a remote server onto dreamweaver but even with MAMP running, the dreamweaver live view is only a white screen?

Is the white live view screen displaying because the database also has to be downloaded? If yes, where does the database get saved ? Does the database get saved in MAMP/HTDOCS?

Thank you in advance!

You have to import your database to your mamp mysql database using the phpmyadmin panel, see -

No.  You must export SQL data from your remote server first.  For this, I use phpMyAdmin.

Then using your local server's phpMyAdmin, create a MySQL database and import the SQL data.

I should also mention that you cannot see much in DW Design View.  Working with WordPress is mostly manual coding of your Theme  fragments. and CSS files.   There are no real web pages to work with.
