Question

My Dreamweaver CS5 program has lost the designer.xml file

I happen to be out of town (away from my purchased software disks) and my program won't open. The error message says it needs the designer.xml file.  Is that a file I can get and upload to correct this.

Thanks for any help you all can assist me with,

Betsy

Your Workspace is corrupted, that's all.  It's no great tragedy.  Simply select or create a new Workspace.

I don't see workspace anywhere on my screends.  I have Windows 10 Home. is that the issue?  And I have found Task View and started a new screen but no luck getting it to open.
when I get home will I be able to reload Dreamweaver from the disk.

The options should be under Window > Workspace Layout...

The name in the top of the application window that Nancy shows as "MyWorkspace" will change depending on what you have selected in the Workspace Layout menu..

Is this by chance a parsing error on the file?  If so it means your custom layout in DW has become corrupted, but if you delete the user config folder and just use the default layouts you will be fine. https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/re-create-dreamweaver-user-configuration.html

If that is the not the error, please post the exact error you are receiving and OS and we can try to help you troubleshoot further.
