Hello, I am very new to Dreamweaver  
I am wondering if anyone can help me with the basics of writing and editing codes.

That's well beyond the scope of the forums, sorry.

DW assumes you have a decent unserstanding of the basics of html, css and javascript. Without those, it's going to be a very frustrating climb.

Fortunately, there are a lot of online resources that can have you coding in no time. Here's one I like for the basics, and the way they have the site laid out with the "Try It Yourself" links...

Javascript&colon; https://www.w3schools.com/js/

Do the exercises, play with the code when presented with the option to do so, and you'll get a decent enough grip on the basics to start working with DW without going absolutely crazy.
