Need Tutorial on Editing in Live View

Hi, I just upgraded to the subscription Dreamweaver from the old CS3 version. A lot has changed. In particular, the Live View pane seems to have replaced the old design view. I can't figure out how to do much of anything in Live View. Even something a simple as splitting a paragraph seems to be impossible. I tried looking for a tutorial about editing in Live View, but I can't find one. The beginner tutorial for adding HTML content assumes that you want to work in Developer mode. Has the paradigm for Dreamweaver changed so much that there simply isn't a WYSIWYG editing environment anymore? If so, I may need to cancel my subscription while I'm still in the trial period. Thanks for any info you can provide about WYSIWYG editing.

    Thank you BenPleysier, L e n a,  Jon Fritz II, and Nancy OShea, for all the helpful replies. There's certainly a lot for me to catch up on. In the interim, it is useful to know that the Design view is still available. I've Googled a bit and found many people proclaiming the iminent death of Dreamweaver. Whatever the future holds, it's great that there's still a community of users who take the time to help each other out. Thanks again!

    Use Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + F11 to toggle between LIVE | DESIGN view. Or use the Document Toolbar that @Jon Fritz mentioned.  See screenshot.

    To edit in LIVE view, double click until you see a gold border and then begin typing.

    Or edit within the CODE panel.

    Or switch to DESIGN view.  Your choice.

    All of that being said, Design View has not been replaced in the latest version of DW, it's still there.

    1. Go to Window > Toolbars > place a check by Document
    2. In the Document Toolbar, you'll see a small triangle next to Live, click it and choose Design

    That will turn on Design View, which should be nearly identical to the one you used in the past. The Live View Editor was meant to replace it, but Adobe never got that far before putting DW on life support.

    Without being tongue in cheek I completely share @BenPleysier 's vision, moreover DW has gone into minimum maintenance mode which includes the fact that there should be no more notorious updates.

    However you asked for tutorials about Live View, here are a few;

    Dreamweaver is not a WYSIWYG editor, nor has it ever been one. True, back in the days if Macromedia there was a utility that allowed you to perfectly place an element. But that was in the period prior to multiple different client screen sizes. Today, it is important to cater for a mobile screen as well as a TV screen size. This is called responsive design. The Macromedia method falls apart when designing for the different screen sizes. To use Dreamweaver, the code view is the best option where you can use live view to see the result.
