"New Local Root Folder"

Hey guys,

Ok, so I am having issues with my "local root" (I am not familiar how it works). About a week ago, I decided to organize my folders in my Mac to make things look a little neater, more organized. I may have deleted a few folders (might of been ignorant) that I thought had no importance. After organizing and deleting just a few I then went into my trash and emptied the trash.

This morning I tried to view a site I created in DreamWeaver and was unable to do so. As my frustration rise, I noticed my iCloud storage was almost to its limit, so I put some of the documents in my document folder to my desktop. Now I am unable to open any Adobe products. Even when I followed these steps: Open Dreamweaver -> Click Manage Sites -> Re Route the site to the desktop folder from which I stated the site on.

If anyone could help me solve this mess I am currently in it will be greatly appreciated.

I am going to attach some error messages I get.

I am completely lost, I have no clue about folders or routes to them. I just thought I knew how to organize them, but obviously not lol.

Thank you,

Kevin

OK, a Live Preview failure is a fairly different issue from the first post (which is a missing folder issue).

DW doesn't tend to like it when you use remote storage for local site files. It also appears your iCloud storage is full which will cause other problems.

DW now has Live Preview which needs to connect to Adobe's servers in order to function. Let's take out the extra step first.

Point your new site at a folder on your local hard drive and try previewing again.

If that doesn't work, what happens when you right click the file in the Files window and choose Open in Browser?

Dreamweaver doesn't store your actual site files, it simply manages files that on your hard drive.

That error means you either moved or deleted your Tech Designs folder, which was being used as your site's Local Root Folder.

DW can't find it, so it can't find any of the files your site was using.

Do a search on your HD for "Tech Designs" if you haven't deleted it, move it back to...

Macintosh HD > Users > ikevin > Documents > Adobe Products > Adobe Dreamweaver

if you do, DW will snap back in line for you.

Otherwise, you can go to Site > Manage Sites within the program and change the Local Root Folder location to wherever you moved the Tech Designs folder.

I followed your instructions and was still unable to open it in safari. So I decided to just create a folder on Desktop and create a simple webpage. I opened dreamweaver, went to create a new site with a file path directed to my folder on the desktop, I then put in the code and saved all (there is no css). Still gave me this error screen.
