New Server Credentials

Ok, I tried to contact support, but they directed me here. I am trying to post updates to my website, but a message came  up saying that it cannot connect to the server. I contacted our server provider and he said that it upgraded from FTP to SFTP. He gave me the new credentials, but I do not know how to update that for the current server and keep the current site the same. All I know how to do for connecting to a server is to create a new site and I do not want that. I hope one of you can take me step by step in this process, if there is a way

    1. Choose Site > Manage Sites.
    2. Select your site and click Edit .
    3. Select the Servers category, and then select your remote server.
    4. Click Edit .
    5. Select SFTP from the Connect Using pop-up menu.
    6. Click Save, and then click Save again.
