New version seems to end access to PVII extensions.

Past updates have removed PVII extensions, but I’ve been able to reinstall with the DMXzone manager. But 21.8 causes DMX to report “menu.xml is corrupted”, and the Anastasiy Manager now flags the plugins as corrupted.

After removing 21.8, and restoring 21.7 I still can’t get the extensions back.

Does anyone have any info or ideas on how to restore the extensions, or is it just a lost cause?

I’ve been able to restore PVII extensions:

I reinstalled 21.7,

Removed the Configuration folder in my /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 2021/en_US/,

and allowed Dreamweaver to build a fresh Configuration folder.

Then I used the DMXzone app to re-add the extensions.

For the time being I’m not going to try this with 21.8. I’ll just leave well enough alone.

The issue has been addressed in the Dreamweaver 21.8.1 release. Could you please update to the latest Dreamweaver 21.8.1 version and verify whether the issue still occurs?

Unfortunately this update doesn’t resolve the issue for me.

After installing the update all my extensions were gone. I tried installing with Anastasiy’s Extension Manager, ZXP Installer and DMXzone Extension Manager. I would remove the DM config folder, re-launch DM to get a clean folder, and try the next installer.

DMXzone Extension Manager allowed me to install some extensions, but only about 5, then additional extensions failed to show up, although the installer reported them as installed. The app is also quite unstable for me, failing to launch about half the time.

The other installers installed one extension, but with subsequent extensions, the installer reported success, but Dreamweaver didn’t display them.

I reverted to 21.7.0.15757 and reinstalled all my extensions with the DMX manager, which, in spite of it’s fragility succeeded in giving me back my extensions.

I’m not getting any error messages, or DM crashes, just failure to install. I have DMX crash reports in the console, but that seems tangental, since they report launch failures.

I’m on a M2 Mac Studio with OS 26.5

The fragility of DMX Zone’s ExManager is no doubt due to its advanced age. They built it for DW 8+ on WinXP, Win7 and OSX devices from 20+ years ago.

DMX Zone, who also makes Wappler, has no further interest in their legacy utilities. They want their customers to use Wappler instead.

I gave up 3rd party extensions & never looked back. It’s liberating to be free from Extensions that tether you to a particular code editor & version.

Manual code and Bootstrap components work in ANY code editor, not just DW.

Yes, Nancy, I agree that’s the way to go, it’s just that the best time to do that always seems...next week, when I’m not so busy. Since the only web design I do is for my own site, next week never comes. But I really _must_ move on.
