No FTP connection or online help in Dreamweaver

Hi everyone, I can't upload or sync files in Dreamweaver, getting error message "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host.". I have just installed the most recent version (2017). Also I noticed that hitting F1 will not bring up help, getting another error message "Unable to display help, Connect to the internet and try again...". This is very strange, why won't Dreamweaver connect to the internet, when other Adobe programs are working fine? Please suggest what I need to do (not too technical if possible please). Regards, John.

Thanks for the suggestions and links. After playing around for a while I tried to set up Cyberduck and that wouldn't work either. Then I waited a bit and Dreamweaver seems to have sorted itself out without me doing anything. Perhaps it was some sort of firewall issue. I'll make a note of the links for next time. Incidentally, F1 still brings up the error message, as does choosing 'online help' from the main Help menu.

What happens if you open the help page directly via a browser? Adobe Dreamweaver Learn & Support

I'm thinking firewall or credentials issue.  If you go to Site --> Advanced --> FTP Log can you tell us what error is being returned when it cannot connect to the host?
