Oh no... Dreamweaver 2020 still crashing

For 10+ years DW has crashed after doing simple things like saving a document or copy and pasting. It has crashed on all versions of Mac OS and all versions of CC I've had.

Last week I installed DW version 2020. It didn't crash for a magical six days (it had crashed without fail several times a day for a decade until last week).

Unfortunately, it has crashed three times today and now takes over 20 miniutes to initialize files and reopen. Why is this happening?  DW seems to be wholly incompatible with MacOS.

I am currently using a MacBook Air early 2015, but this problem has been on earlier MacBooks and iMacs I've had.
My OS is High Sierra, but this problem has been on earlier MacBooks and iMacs I've had.
I'm using DW 2020, but this problem has existed with every version of CC.

DW is just a code editor.  It has always been stable for me on Windows.   I don't own a Mac.  That said, crashes are not normal behavior.

My local site folders reside on my primary hard drive the same as my operating system.  If DW crashed when saving files, that would imply there's a problem with file permissions or the health of the hard drive.   Have you tried creating a new Mac user profile?  Have you used your disk utility to check hard drive health?

Thank you Nancy,

Disk First Aid shows no problems. Will try setting up another user. Don't see that working. I had this problem with Adobe GoLive, the DVD version of DW and now DW CC 2018-2020 - It has happened on six different machines (MacBook Airs and an iMac).

Which makes me thing DW is not compatable with Mac OS (lots of other Mac users have same problem).

Copy and pasting can cause a crash, not just saving a document.
I also read on this forum that Adobe had fixed the  node-causing-fans-to-run   problem.  They haven't fixed this problem  - it happened to me three times yesterday.

I appreciate your suggestions. Best wishes to you.

Can you show us your crash report? That way we may be able to get to the root of the problem.

Thank you Ben,

Would you tell me where I can find the crash report?
I looked online and there seems to be little about accessing it there.

Best wishes.
