Pasted code not appearing [Branched from Help! Can't paste into code view or property inspector]

Question

I have been having the same problem pasting into code for weeks, maybe longer. Often, when I paste into code view the code appears in Design or Live view and not at all in the code view, not even the special characters for angle brackets etc. or any of what was copied appears in code view, nothing appears in Code view other than the code that had been there before the pasting. I can paste the same code into TextEdit, BB Edit, Brackets, MS Word. Not Dreamweaver. This was never an issue in prior versions (I started with v.2 in the late 90's). Now I'm using Mac Mini OS 10.12.6 Dw 2017.5.

Why has this never been an issue in prior versions?

How many platforms have you tried? How much testing have you actually done?

Your "correct answer" is unacceptable. This product has deteriorated considerably and I would think more would be done to alleviate this and the other petty Dw issues being inflicted on users. It's very, very disappointing that Adobe would allow this very basic problem to go on.

I cannot find the post from the Dw team regarding this problem, but i belive it has been fixed in the current pre-release, (beta) version.

I don't know the release date for the beta to become an actual Dw update, but Adobe max is at the end of october, (i think) and new versions are often released to coincide with that.
