PHP 5.6 and 5.2.17

Hi,

I am working with a local server thanks to MAMP, in the site configuration of DW CC 2018, Advanced Settings-gives you the option to select which version of PHP you want to work, but shows you only 2 options: PHP 5.6 and PHP 7.1.

My hosting provider offers me support for PHP 5.2.17 as the highest, due to the hosting plan I am subscribed (the "cheapest"). I have the MAMP and I could set the PHP 5.2.17 in the MAMP. Now, the PHP version for the dreamweaver site must be also 5.2.17? If so, is there a way I can use this version on my current DW CC 2018? Thanks for your patience.

5. 2 is very very old but oddly enough, most improvements in PHP 5.6.x have no impact on your existing code.

It would be counterproductive for DW to revert to older PHP. It might make more sense to upgrade your hosting plan.

Well... in that case, if not upgrade my hosting plan, I may use bootstrap and brackets OFF the environment of Dreamweaver...

No one should be using PHP < 5.6 because they are no longer updated. This means that they will present security risks for your site(s).

I choose PHP 7.1 for new sites and PHP 5.6 for existing sites
