Question

PHP site definition-not an option?

Hi, I am new to php and am learning how to add shopping cart functionality using Cartweaver 3 PHP which is compatible with DW CS3. So:

When defining a site BIG ?:

I am never given the option to use "php" or "php/mysql" when defining or creating a site from the drop down menu, only "ASP JavaScript, ASP VBScript, ASP .NET C#, ASP .NET VB, Coldfusion or JSP" are the options for the server model.

I figured that maybe since my existing site is in HTML, that maybe that inhibits me from defining it as PHP/MySQL so I made a new site in DW CS3 from a PHP template. Still no option that would allow me to define the server model aside from the options I listed above. I've watched every tutorial and they all seem to have the option to choose PHP/MySQL-why don't I?

FYI I use a Dell Inspiron Laptop E1505 with Windows XP Home/Student and use IE as my browser.

HELP! Make me look stupid, I don't care! What is wrong?

Attached is a screenshot of my issue....

Thank you in advance for imparting your wisdom

Yay! Reinstalling-That was it, I finally got some time yesterday and spent it worrying about backing up and reinstalling, freaked out that I would lose all my info or worse make my sytem crash so..... Yesterday I backed up, today I reinstalled and it was such an easy fix. I put the DW cd in, reinstalled and VOILA!!!

Thank you to all that ut on your thinking caps and gave me solutions to try!

Simple answer: I don't know. You should have the option for PHP/MySQL, even if your pages are in HTML.

It looks as though there is something wrong with your installation. I suggest you close Dreamweaver and delete your personal configuration folder. When you restart Dreamweaver, it will re-create the folder with the factory defaults. Instructions on how to find your personal configuration folder are in  the Dreamweaver FAQ.

That did not correct the problem I also shut down my computer and restarted it and nothing changed. When I had deleted the config folder, I did see that the cache was rebuilt though, but there's no change otherwise.

Sorry. Don't know the answer. As I said earlier, you should be able to define PHP/MySQL as the server model, even if your site currently contains only HTML pages. There is something wrong with your installation of Dreamweaver.
