Properties window slow performance

Over a year now and I have tolerated the dysfunctional behavior of the properties window and do not wish to tolerate it anymore.  It causes Dreamweaver to stall in its tracks, screen to go blank a couple times, and finally resolve itself. I have tried closing/reopening Dreamweaver, rebooting, reinstalling Dreamweaver, cleaning the registry (I know that doesn't accomplish anything but I tried anyway because I am desperate to solve this issue).  This is not an occasional problem. It happens every time I open the Properties window.  Annoying to say the least.

Anyone else with this issue?  Thoughts?  Thanks.

    Same for me, no problems.

Do you have a program running in the background that could be of influence?

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

Oh my. I tried the first suggestion. I wound up with a window-full of errors reported by w3schools, only for the page of code I had up.  Had no idea where to go from there, and it didn't look like it applied anyway.  Then I followed the instructions from the helpx.adobe.com link you provided for resetting preferences.  It worked great.  Thanks very much.
