Question

Purchase Dreamweaver???

I had a copy of Dreamweaver CS6 installed on my Windows PC. I recently purchased an iMac and was able to install my Creative Cloud account onto the Mac. My question is simple: Will I have to purchase a brand new copy of Dreamweaver for my Mac?

Thanks,

Michael

Macs are now 64-bit only. So no, Dreamweaver CS6 will likely not work on the new Mac.

Right.  Not an option even with Mac installation disks & valid serial number.  The legacy CS installers won't work on Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey or Ventura.  And there are installation issues as far back as Sierra, High Sierra & Mojave.

Next best option, get a Windows 11 machine which has backwards compatibility for older software.

Thanks Nancy.  I'm turning my iMac into my main workstation, which is why I was asking.

Hi Nancy.  I have the current Photography Plan and the Adobe Acrobat Pro plan.  So it appears I would have to purchase the current version of Dreamweaver.  I think I was misled because, on my Windows laptop, when Creative Cloud would send updates, it seemed to include Dreamweaver as well.  Dreamweaver was always listed along with my Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge applications in Creative Cloud, even though I purchased it separately.

CS6 hasn't released an update since 2012.  But without a supporting device & OS, it's a moot point now.

Neither Photography nor Acrobat include Dreamweaver CC.

That would be a separate purchase.

Creative Cloud subscribers have access to 7 days trials.  Maybe that's what you were seeing in your CC Desktop App.

You can't buy Dreamweaver CS6.  It's 10+ year old software that's been discontinued. It hasn't been available for purchase in 6 years.   Any copies you find offered on spurious websites are pirated fakes or infected with malware.

With a paid Creative Cloud plan, you may install latest Dreamweaver CC on Windows/Mac or both (laptop/desktop, home/office).
