I am just starting to work with Dreamweaver. To speed up my transition to using Dreamweaver I am looking for someone who can, for a fee, recreate a few webpages from my existing old website so I can manage them with Dreamweaver.

To complete what @Nancy OShea  told you, and if you decide to recreate a site from a blank page, you can also rely on templates (free or paid), for example from Themeforest https://themeforest.net/category/all

In addition to w3schools, I like the MDN tutorials, w3c and CSS tricks :

Well, you're on a forum for DW enthusiasts. we can help you with your questions, but I'm not sure you'll find people who charge for their answers.

So what would be your problem, could you please explain in more detail some more context :

  • Starting with was your site developed under DW by the past ?
  • Is your site database-driven?
  • Are you comfortable with HTML, CSS and Javascript, and if there is a database, PHP, MySQL?...
  • If the site was developed under DW, does it use old components such as Server Behavior, Spry, etc.?
  • If the site was developed under DW, does it use Templates, Library items ?

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I have a little experience with Dreamweaver. It would take me quite a while to rewrite the current web pages with Dreamweaver so I am looking for someone who can duplicate the layout/workiing of a few pages. For this project I used a hosting company template because I wanted someone with a little experience to be able to work on the pages if I couldn't, the template seemed an easier way to go. Now I want to convert it to a Dreamweaver website which would make it somewhat easy for someone with a little skill to update it, whether they use Windows or Mac. I've looked at other options but they tend to be either more complicated to use or OS specific.

I would provide the links to the web pages to reconstruct with Dreamweaver along with the content (text, images).

I hadn't used Dreamweaver since 3.5, much is different with it now. On another project I had to make the pages responsive once Google recommended responsiibe for mobile.

If this forum isn't the right place to post this let me know.

Thank you.

Post your Job on Behance / Adobe Talent where interested freelancers are most likely to see it.

Mobile device users interact very differently with their devices than they do with desktop/laptops computers.  With that in mind, a site rebuild like this requires a complete mobile-first makeover.  Copying an old website won't accomplish half of what's needed:

  • Mobile-ready forms,
  • On-click/tap trigger events,
  • Touch targets that are amply sized & spaced to easily accommodate adult-sized fingers,
  • Simplified menus,
  • Responsive images,
  • Reduced content for easier viewing on smaller devices.

To begin this project, use one of the Bootstrap Starter Templates in Dreamweaver CC.  Bootstrap is a mobile-first framework for creating responsive websites that work well on ALL devices.

1. Define a local site folder for you new project.  Site > New Site....

2. Go to File > New > Starter Templates > Bootstrap Templates > choose a layout and hit CREATE button.  See screenshots.

After saving, Dreamweaver will create assets folders inside your local site.

From there, you can replace the placeholder images and text with your own content.

Post back if you have any questions.
