Hello. I am new using dreamweaver and not able to preview sites using real time preview. It seems to work sometimes and not others. steps I took.

1. create a new site

2. create an index.html page and just add <h1>hello world,<h1> in the body

3. create a styles.css file and change the color of the h1.

4. go to view preview

5. get error : Save all the files (including related files) to preview.

It looks like in the split view in dreamweaver but i keep getting that error. I changed the css and did save all relaed files as well but keep getting this.

Use Ctrl / Cmd + S to save your work each time.

That said, Jon is right. RTP is hit & miss because it relies on Adobe's servers.

Use ordinary Preview in Browser by right clicking on your open document tab and select Open in Browser.  That works reliably.

Real Time Preview is, to put it bluntly, garbage. I have never had a site that functioned consistently with it, and I've never liked the idea of my work being processed by one of Adobe's servers before I see it. Always seemed a little too Big Brother-ish to me.

You can go back to the old Preview in Browser by...

    1. Go to Edit > Preferences
    2. Click Real Time Preview in the side bar
    3. Check the box for Default to Static Browser Preview
    4. Hit Apply and close

Well, you need to install a server stack to makes it working as it use the testing server, did you ?

    You’ll find a tuto here https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/previewing-pages.html

Now, the refresh will automaticaly update as you save files in DW, right ?

If you need, you can also use the live view https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/extend/live-view.html
