When I save my template to index.htm,  The index coding for the index file should be grayed out and the header should not be editable.  That us not happening,  I have done this with 4 other templates in the past year and there are no problems.  I cannot see any differences in the header/index coding with what I am doing today.  Any suggestions?  Oh he maximenu2 is OK.

I infer from the post that he is trying to Save Template.dwt as index.html.  And that simply won't work.

If you need more help, copy & paste your Template code into a web forum reply.

You don't.  That's not how to use DW Templates.

DWT files are used to spawn new CHILD pages.

Go to File > New > Site Templates. Select your site and Template.

    Hit Create button.   See screenshot.

Save newly created child page as index.html (Ctrl/Cmd+S).
