What do people recommend here now that interakt have been bought and
abandoned all their customers? :-(

Primarily interested in PHP although would consider other language if
particularly outstanding.

Intellicart seems to have just died from what I gather. Felixone? any
others?

Well at least we have established you know nothing about CF's future
but seemingly a lot about a**holes :-)

Thanks, David. I hadn't seen that. Seems reassuring. Perhaps along
with a lot of others we are a bit cynical after the interakt affair.

Yeh, but thats just 'their' opinion David.....

<ducking for cover>

Seriously, it is probably the most common question and concern for those
considering venturing into CF development, but it has only gone from
strength to strength in the few years I have dabbled in it. Lets hope it
continues that way.

Here's the official view on Adobe's own website:

"Adobe continues to focus resources on moving ColdFusion forward,
leveraging the rich family of products and technologies now offered by
Adobe."

Freddy,

you might want to have a look at Web Assist's eCommerce Suite:
http://tinyurl.com/yhgvr4 it includes all the tools you need to build your
own shopping site and it is currently on sale at 20% off the normal price

I was recommending the PHP version, so the future of CF has no bearing,
although CF will be around for years to come without question.

Cartweaver is a complete e-commerce application, so it is completely coded.
I'm not sure I follow what you are saying about using SB's available in DW.
You could not create a complete e-commerce application using those limited
number of server behaviors. That would be almost impossible. DW server
behaviors give you a very limited set of functionality. For example, there
are no server behaviors to email a customer or upload an image for the
store.
