Site Doesn't work when opened from folder?

Hi,

i have a site that included a slideshow that lads images from an XML. on dreamweaver and preview, the site works perfectly, the slide show works and all images show up. however when you open one of the pages that included an xml slide show from the site folder on the computer, the slide show doesn't work? i have no idea what to since it work on the software and preview perfectly?

does anyone know what the issue could be?

Are the file paths correct? If they are pointing to a location on your computer, then trying to use them on another computer may have 'brocken' them.

Let me see if I have this straight...

The local page works in Live View within Dreamweaver.
The local page works in the browser when Preview in Browser is used in Dreamweaver.
The local page stops working when you open it from a folder on your computer's desktop?

Is this the same local page as the one being used in DW and PIB, or is it a copy, maybe in a .zip file that you're sending to someone?

I don't know of a reason for the page to go bad when opened directly, however if it were a copy of the page in a .zip folder, and the files haven't been extracted from the .zip archive, they wouldn't work correctly.
