Strange files are shown in the Remote Server-list

When I connect DW to the remote server for one of my domains, the list which is shown under 'remote server' is not the files I expect to find.

'Remote server'-list shows the following files:

.oldroot ; customers ; dev ; etc ; lib ; lib64 ; proc :  root-bootstrap ; run ; usr ; ver

… and not the local files as Images Pages Styles Templates etc

When I sign in to File Manager at one.com, all the files which I expect stays there.

When I run the synchronize the response is ‘No synchronization is necessary’

Please help. I am stuck until this problem is solved.

Servers will tend to have a few folders and files not in your local site, but are you missing or have an incorrect remote server root directory in your DW site definition?

If you're not sure, check with your hosting company, then verify you have the root directory set correctly under Site > Manage Sites > click your site > Edit (pencil icon) > Servers > click remote > Edit (pencil icon) > Basic > Root Directory

Keep in mind, most servers are case sensitive, so it needs to be exact, right down to the case structure.

Sound like you're not connected to your server's root web directory.

Depending on your web hosting plan, that could be public_html/ or htdocs/ or www/ or html/ or something else.   Contact your hosting provider to ensure you have the correct log-in details and root directory for your server.

Enter those credentials in your site definition settings (Site > Manage Sites).  See screenshot.

    Thank you Jon Fritz
The box 'Root Directory' contains a slash '/'. For my other domains this field is empty. If I erase the slash for this domain I loose the access to remote server totaly. Please see a printscreen of the dialog box. What can I do?

Contact your hosting company and see if you need a root folder name there.

Typical root directory names are: www, htdocs, and public_html

However, they could be set to anything by your host, so it's always best to verify with them.
