Question

Synchronise Dreamweaver Sites

I work at a medium sized web design agency and we use dreamweaver 8.0 for working on our clients sites.

We have over 200 websites which various people work on at any given time. The problem we have come across is that different developers in the company have outdated or incorrect details for the sites, or are missing new sites. A lot of time is spent going backwards and forwards getting new details or ammending old details.

Is there a way to synchronise the sites stored in dreamweaver for computers across a network. After looking into it I discovered that all the sites are stored in the registry (why?!!) which makes this seemingly simple task a lot harder.

I'm sure our company isn't the only one facing this problem - has anyone else found a solution?

Hi Scotty,

There is no automated way to synchronize a DW Site definition across
users, but you can Export the Site definition to a .ste file to share
the information more easily.

Hope this helps,
Randy
