to use "extract", must I keep files on the cloud?

I dont want to use the cloud. I want to keep them

here right at home like I always used to.

Extract works only for files present in Adobe cloud. In order to use Extract in DW, files have to be uploaded.

Obviously, you can also store them locally, but these will not work with Extract.
