Dreamweaver doesn't require you to log into your site to work on it. DW requires you to log in if you want to push updates to your site or download files from a remote server to work on them. If you log in to make updates to your website such as logging into Wordpress, you might need to look at resetting your password through the software.

To edit site files, you need to define a local site folder that resides on your computer's primary hard drive.  See screenshots.

To connect to your server, you need the host server's log-in credentials and Root Directory.  If unsure, ask your hosting provider for details. They may have made changes on their end.

Click the TEST button to confirm connection.

Failing that, click on > More Options.

If you still can't connect, try using free FileZilla S/FTP client.  Click the GREEN download button.

If you can't connect with FileZilla, there's another problem— firewall, antivirus, router, ISP or server.

    Hi @Mr32545772fu20,

Thanks for writing to us. Can you please confirm the Dw version and the connection protocol FTP/SFTP/FTPS/Other which is being used for connecting to your website. It would be helpful if you can provide a screenshot of the site settings with all the details filled while connecting to the website.

    Have a pleasant day!

    Regards,

    Nayan
