Unhandled win32 exception-Dreamweaver CS6

I have not gone to the new versions of DW because as I understand this - it does not have support for CF. I've seen CF Builder and don't especially like it compared to DW.

But, in the past couple of days, DW stops working about once an hour and debug shows this exception. I tried deleting WinFileCache-E4854B7D.dat but that's not curing the problem.

Is there a way to fix this? Barring that, is there any way to add CF support to the new DW?

When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW

If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences

If all else fails, use the CC Cleaner Tools below followed by a software re-install.

Adobe announced in 2006 that their long term plan was to phase out support for ColdFusion in DW.   Stick with CS6 or switch to a different IDE.

I deleted the cache. No help.

I suppose I could restore preferences but it was a job picking color schemes and I really hate to. Ditto with a reinstall. I'll see how much trouble it causes me and look at whether my office version gives me trouble. If yes here and no there that indicates a problem with my home install.

    Thanks.

Don't delete Preferences.  Rename them so you can revert back it if doesn't fix the problem.

You can keep keep a copy of your code color scheme.  In CS6, it's in an XML file.  However, in CC 2017, it's in a LESS file.

Additional info: DW CS6 12.0 Build 5808 on Windows 7 and nothing special is happening when it crashes.

From what I know, there is support for Coldfusion albeit with a few oddities that should be fixed once the Dreamweaver team have been notified of same.

I don't have a complete answer to this, yet, but I did install DW CC alongside DW CS6 on my machine at the office. No problems doing or having a dual extension. CC is picking up some of my choices for CS6 like color coding and I did a short test and it seems to handle closing arguments (<cfoutput></cfoutput>. I doubt I explore it a lot more unless CS6 becomes unusable. No problems at work but I didn't use it heavily today.
