Uninstalling Extension that won't go away

Unfortunately the fact that a search doesn't reveal a file on windows doesn't mean that the file is not present.

By default the user configuration folder for Dreamweaver is within a hidden folder. To see hidden folders on Windows (at least on XP) open Windows Explorer go to: Tools -> Folder Options, View, Show hidden files and folders.

For Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms the user config should be found found here:
<drive>:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration
For Mac OS X platforms:
<drive>:Users:<username>:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Dreamweaver 8:Configuration

Note Dreamweaver CS uses different folders:

and Windows Vista has it's own peculiarities using I believe within the Roaming folder, but not certain.

If you are ok with losing all of your installed extensions, then with Dreamweaver closed, you can delete the *user* configuration folder, then restart Dreamweaver. Theoretically you should be able to re-enable your extensions from within Extension Manager after this operation. But also note that some preference settings may also be wiped out.

If the un-wanted extension is still listed within Extension Manager, then take a look within Extension Manager's Program Files folder:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Configuration\Extensions
and look for a .mxi and .mxp file that matches the un-wanted extension. Delete those files.
