Unusual - and intermittent - selection behavior in DW

I'm on a Mac with the latest version of DW. After resetting preferences to no avail, restarting my mac, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I continue to experience the following:

1) Trying to open any menu with a click does nothing. If I double-click, I'll see the menu appear briefly but I don't have the opportunity to actually select a menu item or have the menu persist.

2) Moving my cursor into the code in code view isn't predictable. For instance, I can click between two empty paragraph brackets and it'll select the > of the first p tag and the < of the second. It's not letting me simply click within and start typing.

3) Trying to select lines of code sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Any ideas? This was working just fine for hours this morning and then noon hits and chaos ensues.

Is your local site folder defined in Dreamweaver?

Does the site folder reside on your primary hard drive?

    Hi Nancy,

Initially, when I wrote in, no. I deleted the original folder a while back that DW was relying on; no longer needed that project. During the course of today, I finally addressed that since it was such an outlier of issues. I thought, "Well, why not?!". Things seem to be working fine ever since. Does not defining a site folder cause such wonky behavior in DW? Seems so unrelated if that's the case. Like it's a breakdown of app logic for such a seemingly unrelated thing.

Not illogical when you consider DW is having to read files on your entire computer which takes up a LOT of resources.  After a while, it chokes.  Defining a local site folder limits the CPU & RAM processing to one folder instead of the whole shebang.   Make sense?
