Update database using Dreamweaver Update Wizard

Hi
I'm fairly new to databases, and have been stuyding ColdFusion at Uni, however, my work's server is only PHP MySQL.

I've been playing with the database wizards etc to
1) Display details from an existing database
2) Create a page to ADD data to the database
3) Create a page to MODIFY/UPDATE data on the database
4) User Authentication for the ADD/MODIFY pages

All is working well except the UPDATE page which I've created using the 'Record Update Form Wizard'. I've printed out all the help files etc, and followed all the bouncing balls, but I cannot get the page to actually update the database. I have managed to create an update page that retreives all the records, and makes it LOOK like you can update the database, but it doesn't do anything.

I've tried to attached the code but I keep getting an error message, so I'll paste it at the end - sorry.

If anyone can tell me how to fix this/what I'm doing wrong using the Dreamweaver tools - I'd really appreciate it. THEN I need to work on some search interfaces
