Hello Community,

i just startet to learn html with css and my dreamweaver is very slow.

I use local files and very simple pages.

But Dreamweaver is so laggy, it takes 1-2 sec. to type different codes.

All other programs runs normal. It's just Dreamweaver.

I made a video in attachment. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmFqFCMJFVlXh7AK_t2dvmtwBkHc1w

I need help 🙂

    Hi

We are investigating this issue at our end, meanwhile as a workaround can you perform below steps and see if the issue is resolved.

    1. close DW
    2. Go to Registry key press win +R -> type regedit
    3. go to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2020\Temp File List\
    4. delete theTemp File List folder and restart Dreamweaver (before deleting the folder first take backup of the folder, right click on it and select export)

    Hi,

DW 21.1 is still slow while typing or doing some modification in direct mode.

I have applied the procedure with : Registry key but this doesn't improve anything.

What can I do to solve this problem?

For information : My system is DW21.1, Windows 10, Intel Core i7-10700F ,  RAM 32GO.

I'm on Win10 with latest updates and have no slow typing issues with valid documents stored on my primary hard drive.  However, documents containing code errors or saved to networked or cloud drives can cause DW to behave erratically.   Live view is slower than Design view.  Try switching to Design from your document toolbar.

All my documents are stored on my primary drive. I have about 130 html page. The thing that is not stored localy is the bootstrap FM, I use for that a CDN.

Other information, I'm not using GIT.

The design mode have a better behavior, but I prefer use direct mode to work on my website.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting.

Could you please share more information with us to investigate the issue.

    1) Does the issue occur for a specific file type or with all files

    2) Can you share one file where issue is reproducible.

    3) Can you try clearing Dreamweaver Preferences and see if it works

    https://helpx.adobe.com/in/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html

4)Can you please try below steps and let us know if it resolves your issue:

    • Disable site cache in site settings > advanced settings > local info and uncheck enable cache.
    • In Edit > Preferences (Win) or Dreamweaver > Preferences (Mac) -> Code Hints, deselect Enable Code Hints.
    • Also try to disable On Edit Linting,  click Edit > Preferences (Win) or Dreamweaver > Preferences (Mac). In the category list, click Linting, select On edit linting and click Apply.

Let us know if this helped.

    Thanks

A number of people have complained about this recently.

    • Which operating system are you using?
    • Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode with Networking?
    • If that doesn't help, file an official bug report from the DW Help Menu and revert to the previous CC version.
