View Pics from gallery?

Hi Guys,

I have made a small gallery and am trying to work out the best way to let the user see the full image and keep them on the same page...

The gallery has around say 30 pics per page at a time and I have small thumbnails resized and looped with Tom Mucks horizontal looper and they display just perfectly for me..

I have tried to just Link it so you click the image and a new browser opens up with the full pic... this works but I dont like it much...

Ive seen some pop up scripts on some sites but im not wanting to annoy users with pop up windows either?

Id appreciate some suggestions of how you guys all display images to a user...
