Hi

I want to move my dreamweaver html files on to a memory stick so i can show my teacher at college. However when i tried to by doing the .ste method it just showed the whole page as white with no colour and just the text i put onto the page but not in the position i put it on. There are also no pictures just a black outline and a mini picture icon in the top left corner.

I am using Dreamweaver cc 2017 on a trial.

I was wondering if anyone can help me as i need it done by the next couple of hours as I'm selling my macbook today.

Many Thanks

Nat

Right click on the file name in the files panel, select 'Preview in Browser' then the browser name.

What does the browser preview show?

Can you post a screen shot of your sites file structure?

(expand the folder in the files panel)

It looks to me like you're attempting to open files in DW without a Defined Site in that last screenshot. DW doesn't like doing that, it wants a site created for any files that it's going to manage.

Are you trying to open the files from your thumb drive in DW or are you not working with a defined site at all?

I think you might have missed one of my first questions above...

Are the thumb drive files in a .zip archive?

The ste file is your site definition, not your actual site.

Using your OS's file manager simply copy/paste the folder containing the site from you HD to the memory stick.

There should be no reason for a copy/paste to corrupt your files. Something else is probably going on here.

Was there any kind of crash when you copied the files from your OS to the memory stick?

Does your site use PHP and a local testing server?

Did you .zip the folder when you copied it onto the memory stick?

Could you share the code of a page that is not displaying correctly by pasting it here in the forum (don't use email, it won't go through)?
