You know that template area from .dwt file are grayed out in code view.

I am creating specification document to instruct to the system programmer where is the template area. I print out html files of our website from DW code view, and past it to adobe XD to make specification sheets.

The problem is that template area are not clear in the printed file because the grayed out templete area are converted to normal text color after pdf printing.

Are there any way to achive my goal?

    Thank you both.

I end up with screenshotting  code view in DW and past them in DX. The tips is that you hide unwanted rest parts of the code using "hide selection" before screenshotting so that you can get nice one page screenshot with grayed out template areas.

I wanted to know whether there is any Adobe apps which can take picture the template code view, and there seems not any, according to your reaction.

    Thanks a lot!

Open .DWT file for Template code only.

Child pages contain grayed out Template + content within Editable Regions.

If you want syntax highlighting, open page in an actual browser, right-click and View Page Source.

This screenshot is from Firefox.  Code Comments are shown in bright green.

This screenshot is from Chrome, Code Comments are in dark green.

If you want a white background, use your browser's Print feature (Ctrl/Cmd+P).

    Hope that helps.

As far as any other program is concerned, the gray/locked template code is just an html comment. DW simply formats the beginning of the comment in a way it recognizes as a "template".

The program you paste the code into would need to recognize an html comment as something separate from the rest of the html code, and color it accordingly.
