Web preview works in dreamweaver , but image does not appear on internet web page

I have very limited skills in Dreamweaver, but have been able to make minor edits to our web pages.  I recently tried to replace a flash animation with just a static image.  The web page previews fine in Dreamweaver and on the local machine directly in Edge and Chrome.  When I uploaded the changes, I only see a small icon in the top left corner of the image area, but the image does not appear.

Any suggestions?

You say you uploaded the changes to the page, did that include uploading the actual image file itself?

Images are not part of your html file and need to be uploaded separately from your page. Once uploaded, clear your browser's cache and check the page again.

Somethig else to consider, verify your image name and the link to it match exactly. Servers are generally CaSe SenSitiVe, your local OS is not. On your machine a link to ../PICTURES/IMAGE.JPG will find the file at ../pictures/image.jpg. On a server, those are two separate locations entirely and a case mismatch would cause a 404 File Not Found error..

Thanks.  There was one letter that was capitalized in the name of the image, but was not capitalized in the call to that image from the html page.  That worked.

Are you working within a defined site?

Did you upload the image in addition to the page?

If you answered yes to both of those or are unsure of the answers, can you post a link to your page online?
