Dreamweaver needs to embrace the WebP image format so it is prominently displayed and you don't have to dig for it.

😕😕 Dreamweaver ALREADY supports WebP files.
Use them the same as you would any other web image — JPG, PNG, GIF or SVG file.
1. Go to Insert > Image.
2. Browse to desired image file and hit OK. See screenshots.

For best results, toggle from DESIGN to LIVE View with Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + F11.

Incidentally, Dreamweaver no longer accepts feature requests. No new features have been planned since fall of 2020 when Dreamweaver was moved from active development to minimal maintenance status.
If you have doubts or concerns about using Dreamweaver, I suggest you compare it with other code editors that are in active development. Decide for yourself if it's meeting all your needs. For more details, see this related topic.

Hope that helps.
