When the website is launched through mamp (localhost) it works perfectly and even in the actual dreamweaver software it works as well even opening the index html file in the root folder works but  when attempting to preview in real time preview I get "The requested URL was not found on this server." message.  Will the site works when it's public?

RTP uses Adobe's servers which requires a remote connection.   With Mamp, you don't need Adobe's servers since you already have your own local server for testing.  So RTP is  more baggage than you actually need.

Don't worry.  My local testing server (Wamp) doesn't play nice with Real-Time Preview either.  So I disabled RTP from my Preferences.  Check the box for Default to Static Browser Preview (see screenshot).

Thanks for your reply! I'm assuming that means it's some sort of glitch?
