HI,

What happened to all the find/replace features in 2017.1? The main one I use all the time which is where to search - local document, local site, etc. I do not see those options anymore! It will just search in the document I have opened. Please don't tell me this option is no longer available?!?!

This isn't quite the full answer.  There used to be several scope options in Find, like full local site, all open documents, etc.  I haven't re-discovered those latter two.

Am I just missing them?

I've also noticed that Find is only available if you have at least one document open.  Not sure why that should be a limitation.  Adobe: Please make Find active for anywhere on the site scope.  If not docs are open, a smart default would be "all" of the site.

The new F&R features (well, the old features brought back) are only available in CC2017.1.

If you can't open the F&R tool without a document being open, it would mean you're still in one of those older versions, either CC2017.0 or 2017.0.1.

The functions you are looking for are in the new Find in Files tool (Ctrl + Shift +F) under the Advanced heading.

Thank you.  I was just coming back to this string to say "I found it".  The "shift" is the thing.  Ctrl + Shift + F with no documents open allowed the advanced Find I was looking for.

New keyboard shortcuts for find and replace:

  • Find in Current Document: Ctrl + F (on Windows), and Cmd + F (on Mac)
  • Find and Replace in Files: Ctrl + Shift + F (on Windows), and Cmd + Shift + F (on Mac)
  • Replace in Current Document: Ctrl + H (on Windows), and Cmd + Alt + F (on Mac)

For a complete list of find and replace keyboard shortcuts, see Find and replace keyboard shortcuts.
