When will drag and drop be fixed?

I just upgraded to 2017.0.1 and have found several things that have made my workflow harder. The latest is the inability to drop images and files into the code view. This was a terrible oversight. I found in the forum that it is a known bug and the posts are about 3 months old.

When will this be fixed. This ability really really helps. Certainly I can manually code. But I might as well use a text editor. Come on DW, you are supposed to make life easier.

The more people who submit bug/feature requests, the more attention an issue receives.

Wow - 1st August 2017 and still no drag and drop.

I am amazed that Adobe haven't fixed this. This is truly a new level.

Have you tried the integrated code hints that Brackets uses when adding images to your source? It's pretty handy.

    1. Type in <img src=
    2. Hit Enter/Return on the Browse option to open the Select File dialogue and browse to it as you normally would
(it remembers which folder you were in on subsequent image selections)

    or

Once the page is saved to your site...

    1. Type in <img src=

    2. Arrow up/down through a list of available folder/files in the code hint pop-up itself
    3. Highlight the image or folder and hit Enter/Return to select the image or dig a level deeper

Once you get used to it, it goes pretty quickly on a saved page.

Obviously not as quick as a simple drag/drop, but it is what it is for now.

Thanks. I put in a couple of bug alerts/ feature requests about my findings.

The feature to fill in file names when typing the img src is useful, just not the same.

Just like cars are built by people who don't work on them, I feel like DW is now being built by people who do not use it in the real world.

You are asking in a user to user forum, we are as much in the dark as you are.

For what it is worth, here is my estimate for when it will be fixed - 2020, Providing it is a leap year, and there is a 'Z' in the month.
