We don't know what Adobe is planning.  But it's fair to say that Dreamweaver gets no love except from a few Boomers and GenXers who still have need  for it. I suspect it's not a big enough cash cow for Adobe these days.

Adobe shifted interest away from web apps to the 3D design space  -- Substance and Dimension (not to be confused with now defunct Dimensions with an S).  It's not surprising given that Substance and Dimension cost extra and have greater appeal to Zoomers for whom the digital age has always existed and words like "analog" and "dial-up" have no meaning.

I just find it strange that there are so many sessions about XD, so they know their customers are designing sites, but none about the next stage of development. I suppose they are just focusing on supporting designers who are part of a bigger team, rather than people who wear all the hats required to create a website.

XD is a prototyping tool only.  And it is NOT strictly for web designers.  XD allows UI/UX designers the freedom to do pretty much whatever they want to do regardless of whether or not it's practical.  In many ways, XD sets up inexperienced designers for failure by selling them a false sense of security.  In reality, what they create in XD won't necessarily work well in real devices.

I wonder how many designs actually make it to production.

This meme has been floating around for decades.

Do you want an educated guess?

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!
