why design mode not show images in webp format???

I have changed my images from jpg to webp but in design mode it does not show me any images but in live and in the web browser everything should be correct.
Does anyone know any solution?

Switch to Live View.  See screenshot.

    You could get yourself a more modern IDE as in

      There is no solution, aside from switching to Live View, unfortunately. 

      Design View hasn't been updated in well over a decade and DW itself is no longer receiving bug fixes or new features.

      You just need to use Live View, or an actual browser, to see your .webp images.
