Question

Adobe Exchange Download or View Counts?

Hi,

I am looking at using Adobe Exchange (I have written some Actions for Photoshop) but I have some concerns.

If I upload my Actions for free distribution, do I get any feedback on the number of viewings or downloads for my offering?   It is nice to offer the world something good for free, but just putting it out there is a bit of an empty experience unless one can see some measure of feedback.   Currently on the download page on my own website I can monitor the number of hits.

A second issue is that I have published a Medium article describing my Actions and I also have received a ‘rave review’ from Petapixel.com but I cannot readily see how I could provide links to these in my listing for would-be users to decide whether to download or not. I could perhaps produce a ‘YouTube’ PowerPoint type video and give a link to that on Exchange and then put any links under the YouTube video but I wish to do things above board and to give any links directly from Exchange.

Thank you, Avanish, for your reply

I will just echo back my understanding to check that I comprehend correctly your reply and its implications.

I can load my up my Actions as *.atn files within a zip file on Adobe Exchange.

I can then see if people download the zip file and, if so, I can see the cumulative numbers of downloads.  (I can’t track the revenue as such because my offering is for free.)

I cannot directly provide a live weblink in my listing (for product reviews or further product guidance), but I can give passive-text-only links which users can cut and paste into their browser.

In regard to the last point, I am deducing that Adobe doesn’t object to weblinks as such, it just doesn’t currently support live weblinks in listings.  If this the case, then Adobe shouldn’t object if I say, for example, that would-be users can find live hyperlinks to product reviews under the referenced YouTube Video.

In regard to the latter observation, I do understand that Adobe doesn’t allow people to cross reference other places where potential customers could alternatively buy a listed product.  However, in this case I am offering my Actions for free so that consideration is less applicable.

Thanks for the questions.
- When you list a ZXP/CEP plugin via Exchange Partner Portal, you will be able to get insights on the number of acquisitions for your plugins (scripts).  We currently don't show the number of people who visited your detail pages and a conversion rate from your detail page, but that's in the works and our hope is that granular insights will be presented when ZXP plugins get migrated to Developer Distribution (currently only supports UXP plugins)

- You have the ability to add external links to your listings in the info/description section of the listing. Users need to copy and paste those links at this point. Does that answer your question?  Please reach out to me at agandhi@adobe.com and I can help provide any clarification or help with concerns.

thanks
