ARM users: Plugin installation is temporarily unsupported

As of Creative Cloud Desktop App Version 5.3.5.518, plugin and extension installation is not supported for users of ARM processors, (with the exception of the Adobe XD Plugin Manager). We regret this inconvenience and expect a fix in the next version of the Creative Cloud Desktop App due at the end of February 2021. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, alternate installation methods like ExManCmd and third party tools like Anastasiy's Extension Manager cannot install plugins on ARM devices. It is not possible to roll back the Creative Cloud Desktop App. We will update you as soon as a workaround is available.

For more information on ARM support for CEP and UXP based plugins, please see this article on the Adobe Tech Blog.

If you're a Mac user with an ARM or M1 processors, the plugin marketplace should be available once again in the Creative Cloud Desktop App with the latest update.

Although the latest Photoshop will run natively on M1, CEP panels are not supported on M1. You can run CEP-based panels in Rosetta mode. See this article for details.

Again, this only applies to macOS, if you use a Windows ARM device, they are not supported yet.

Are you using a new Windows ARM based device? If so, extensions and plug-ins are not yet supported. pless help

Hello, it seems ARM processors are still not supported when it comes to extension installation?
When is it anticipated to have a solution?

@FrancoisK

Logging out of the creative cloud desktop app, restarting it, and logging back in seems to work for us, any time we have an issue installing a zxp file.
Of course make sure this app and the installer app (we use Anastasiy’s Extension Manager) are all up-to-date.

HTH.

Thank you for your info!

We are trying to install a zxp file on a new,  Apple Macbook 14" M1 Pro, both with UIPA and With Anastasy's Extension Manager and in all cases getting a -152 error.
Tried quitting and re-opening Creative Cloud app as suggested, but problem remains.

Any ideas?

thnx!

Hi there!

Did you try logging completely out of the Creative Cloud Desktop app (Help menu or user icon -> Sign Out) You could also see if the CCD is up to date by looking at the preferences...

Generally speaking -152 might just mean "try again later." Also try emailing asupport@adobe.com
