CEP Extension won't open...

So i decided to try and develop extensions to after effects via html

and when i try to open the extension it shows me nothing..

when i go to windows->extensions->[NameOfMyExtension] and click

nothing happens.

there is a cs interface file and menifest file...

i tried putting it in the

and also in the [AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CEP\extensions] and still not working...

I had to same problem for awhile until I compared manifest files with another extention that was succesfully opening.

I changed this line:

 <RequiredRuntime Name="CSXS" Version="7.0"/>

 

to 

 

<RequiredRuntime Name="CSXS" Version="10.0"/>

 

the issue was the version of CSXS in the manifest file mismatching the actual version that After effects was using. Also, if the extention is unsigned then you will have to add the debug mode line to the registery that matches the version of CSXS that AE is using

This part in your manifest is also important:

" Make sure correct point product versions are used. Here is an example.

<HostList> <Host Name="PHXS" Version="[15.0,15.9]"/> <Host Name="PHSP" Version="[15.0,15.9]"/> </HostList> 

This will support Photoshop version 15.0 up to, and including, 15.9. If you use the following syntax then you are supporting releases up to 15.9 but not including 15.9 "
